Skills & progression
A classless character can train every skill. Learn what earns practice and what levels unlock.
One character, every skill
Nitya is classless. Train the activities you enjoy and combine them freely. Wearing work clothes does not assign you a class or prevent combat training. The Skills window groups related skills into expandable categories; Life has its own category.
Open a skill's Progression tab to see the current level requirements for gathering and crafting. Higher resources and more complicated recipes become available as you train. Lower-level work remains useful for gathering supplies.
How practice is earned
Useful completed actions award skill practice: finishing a harvest, completing a craft, caring for an animal or performing the relevant combat work. A cancelled action, rejected request or repeated click does not produce extra completed work. Running and swimming train Athletics through actual movement; standing still or walking normally does not.
The early skill curve starts gently and grows more demanding. The baseline threshold for a level is rounded up from 35 × 1.15^(level − 1) XP. Different activities award different amounts, so a harvest count is not a universal measure of a level.
Perks
Skills include Purchase, Active and Progression views. Purchase shows available perks and asks you to confirm a purchase; Active shows the ones you already own. Read the effect and cost displayed before buying. Some perk names and descriptions are still provisional during development.

Discovery is separate
Discovery tracks what you have seen, acquired, harvested, crafted and defeated. Knowledge reveals encyclopedia facts; it is not skill XP. You can fill a knowledge bar while continuing to train the skill used for the activity.
The offline-care exception
Ordinary offline time does not train skills. Stocked animal troughs are an exception: the character who supplied food earns the feeding credit when an animal actually consumes it, including while that supplier is offline. An offline summary reports what was earned. Merely filling a trough does not award the consumption credit.
